Burmese Community
The Burmese community is an extremely diverse population consisting of many ethnic and religious groups. The San Francisco Bay Area is fortunate to be a gateway for many of the people of Burma into the United States. Because of this diversity, a grassroots effort has been underway since 2008 to unite as many of these groups in order to prepare for the 2010 Census. The 2010 US Census Committee for the People of Burma is honored to have representatives from the majority of these diverse groups and continues outreach to be as inclusive as possible.
